  主要分3個版本:
  1. Windows 8 (家用版)
  2. Windows 8 Pro (商用版)
  3. Windows RT (支援ARM架構的Windows 8版本)
  4. Windows 8 Pro (商用VL版)
  
  Windows RT 會預載輕觸螢幕式運作的特別版本MS Word、Excel、Powerpoint、OneNote,但這Win8 RT版本可能不會獨立發售,亦不適用於PC主機;而祗會預載平版電腦及Smart Phone上。
